Wedding Shoes

Hey Ya'll! Happy Tuesday! My Badgley Mischka heels came in the mail the other day and they are absolutely beautiful, but I can not walk in them to save my life. I am sad that I will be returning them back to amazon.com. I would love to keep them but I am positive that S does not want me falling down the aisle when we get married. So I am back on the search for some shoes for my wedding again. I do not ever wear heels and I am extremely clumsy- so combine my lack of heel wearing experince with the fact that I trip over my own feet and that is definitely an almost deadly combination. The heel on the Badgley Mischka heels was a 4.25 inch heel so I am looking for more of a 3 inch heel. I found a pair of Nina heels that I really love. They have a bridal line that is really pretty!

Nina Forbes Peep-toe Pump in Ivory
The Nina Forbes is a 3" heel which would be perfect and is priced nicely at $79.95!
Nina Eterna wedges in Ivory Luster Satin
The Nina Eterna is a 4" heel but it is a wedge so I could easily walk in this shoe and is priced nicely at $74.25!
Nina Freja in Ivory Luster Satin

The Nina Freja is a lot like the Forbes and is also a 3" heel which is perfect!

I want to do an Ivory shoe I think because the white is too white! I felt that way when I tried on wedding dresses that the white dresses were like a blinding white! I did get a white dress but I do not feel like it is a blinding white. Maybe because I think my dress is perfect in every way!! Hopefully I order some shoes soon so I can schedule a fitting and figure out what alterations need to be done. Have a great day ya'll!

Obsessions of the Week

Hey Ya'll!! I am so glad it is Friday! I am lucky because I only work 4 days a week so I always have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off- another joy of ten hour hospital shifts! What a week it was too. Work was crazy busy all week long- the hospital census must be almost at 90%- which considering I work at a nine hundred and something bed hospital means you are super busy when the census is up!! This week I added a few new obsessions to my life.

Obsession # 1:
Florence + The Machine Pandora station. They clearly play Florence + The Machine and a ton of other amazing musicians including Adele, The Shins, Fun., Basia Bulat, Hem, Foster The People, MGMT, Blue Foundation, and one of my favorite bands- Mumford and Sons. You could almost call it an Indie/Hipster station, but it is pretty amazing music! I could go on all day long about this station so if you have a Pandora account definitely check this station out!!

Obsession # 2:
My Chaco's! This amazing weather has made it so I can wear them! This warm weather better not be a tease because I love it!! I have been able to wear my Chaco's for the past 2 weekends now and I love it!! My Chaco's are one of my favorite pairs of summer shoes- they are comfortable, support your foot, and while they may not be the most stylish shoes I still love them!

Obsession # 3:
My new K-cups I purchased last weekend! They are the Newman's Own- Newman's Special Blend Extra Bold. I am very picky about my coffee so for me to put my stamp of approval on this coffee means that it is good. I like a dark bold flavored coffee.

Obsession # 4:
Pimento Cheese and Turkey Sandwiches. Weird sounding, I know. This week when we went grocery shopping we picked up turkey breast to make sandwiches and also pimento cheese to make sandwiches with. Well when I went to make a turkey sandwich I realized I had no cheese except for the pimento cheese so I experimented. My experiment was so good I brought a pimento and turkey sandwich for lunch everyday this week! Sometimes combining things in the fridge that you wouldn't usually pair together turns out pretty good!
Pimento Cheese sandwich then just add sliced turkey breast
Obsession # 5:
My new NRG by Barco hot pink scrub top! I feel that when you wear scrubs every day to work they need to be fun and exciting. If you look dull then your patients feel dull, but when you brighten up it makes the patients brighten up! I bought this top this week and can not wait to wear it all spring and summer!

Those are my obsessions of the week! This might become a regular Friday thing! Look forward to next week's obsessions of the week!

Hope ya'll have a great weekend. S & I don't really have any plans except for relaxing in our new house!

Weekend

Hi Ya'll! This weekend was much needed and much deserved. This week at work we were short staffed so I decided to work some overtime to help out. I ended up working 50 hours this week-- that is definitely a lot of hours. I usually work a 2nd shift but I came in to help with 1st shift which required me to be at the hospital at 0345 which is completely too early compared to my usual 1100, but I was glad I was able to help out and the overtime is definitely helpful since we just bought a house. Here are a few instagram pics from my weekend..
Cleaned my kitchen

Got a few bathroom knick-knacks, made throw pillows for the couch, hung curtains in my bedroom and put our new comforter on the bed, and made cookies in my new oven!

The cookies I made- yes I cheated with break and bakes!

bought a new 80 ct box of K-Cups for my Keurig
S & I did some shopping, some cleaning, and some organizing. We still need to do some moving and by some moving, I mean a lot of moving. I pretty much love being a home owner- well for now.

Presents of Love

Well S & I exchanged Valentine's Day presents last night and we were both impressed with how well we pick out presents. We went to see a band play at a benefit a while back and we danced together while we were there. Well since S & I didn't meet until after high school and college- we have had absolutely no opportunity to dance together. We learned that we might need to do that more often if we are going to dance in front of people at our wedding. So for Valentine's Day I got S (and myself of course) private dancing lessons so we can learn a dance for our wedding! I am so excited!

Perhaps we can look this good dancing?! =D

Lately S and myself have been trying to get back into going to church. It has been awhile since we have been and so a few Sunday mornings ago we started going to the early service at one of the local churches. It has been amazing. Well we soon realized that the only Bible I have is a "teen study Bible" aka an old, bright, colorful Bible that is somewhat obnoxious for a twenty-something year old to carry around. So I was using a Bible app on my iPhone, but I started getting weird looks from the people around me because I am almost positive they thought I was on facebook during the sermon, which in my defense I wasn't. So S heard me tell my mom the other day how I wanted a grown up Bible and S delivered. I got a beautiful pink leather bible with my name on it! It is Auh-maz-ing!
My Bible!!

The cover of my Bible =D
We were both impressed with our presents. All in all I would say Valentine's Day was a success this year! Hope everyone else has a great Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's day... For many it is dreaded and for many it is welcomed- well the many that welcome it are usually the ones who know they are getting a present or have a sweetie. Let us have a history lesson today.. Saint Valentine's Day or Valentine's Day for short, is a holiday honoring Christian martyrs with the name of Saint Valentine. What that has to do with love- I have not a clue? But it eventually turned into the greeting card holiday that we know of today.

Unfortunately I ruined my Valentine's Day surprise from S. I was supposed to be getting the KitchenAid Stand Mixer that I have been salavating over for the past couple of years, but we got the appliances for our house this past weekend and I ended getting the nicer fridge that I wanted instead. I figured I could register for the stand mixer when we register for our wedding. Regardless, I absolutely love my new fridge and I know S will do something sweet for me anyways because he does something sweet almost everyday! More to come on Valentine's Day presents.

In other news, I ordered my shoes for my wedding last night with my mother. I would have done anything for a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps for my wedding but it wouldn't be very practical and you will learn practical is my middle name. These Louboutin Pumps would have been amazing.

But I ordered a beautiful pair of Badgley Mischka pumps. The Badgley Mischka Lissa Open Toe Pump to be exact. I love them. They are beautiful. I am sure they are not very practical either but I am only going to get married once so scratch practical. Here are my gorgeous shoes.

Now the easy part is over- I have my dress, my veil, my shoes. Now the hard part- picking out bridesmaid dresses.... More to come on that another day.

So here goes nothing...

As an ALMOST newlywed I find organization to be key in life right now-- putting together a wedding, a house, all while working, and still trying to find time to be with S right now is definitely consuming my life. I find the best way to stay calm and keep it all together is by taking 30 mins of "me time" a day- which is spent on Pinterest. I have to admit that while I am on Pinterest I am looking at wedding stuff or house stuff, but regardless it makes me calm.

On to more important things like my wedding. I am getting married to my best friend and the love of my life in September. We just bought a house and are currently in the process of moving which might I add is such a fun process- I mean trying to fit all of my stuff and all of his stuff into one space (sensing some sarcasm there?). But regardless I am so excited about our house and I am so excited we are getting married! Be prepared for all of my blunders and mishaps as an ALMOST newlywed.
